NatureLogic is led by two experienced ecologists with director-level backgrounds across the UK's leading environmental consultancies. Between them, Nathan and Aaron bring over 30 years of hands-on expertise to every project.
Nathan Jenkinson
Nathan is an ecologist and biodiversity specialist with over 10 years of experience in ecological consultancy, working across the full spectrum of the built environment, from large-scale strategic residential and mixed-use schemes to energy, healthcare, and nationally significant infrastructure projects. His approach blends technical rigour with commercial awareness, helping clients navigate complex ecological requirements with clarity and confidence.
Nathan has held director level client-facing roles at leading UK environmental consultancies, where he led regional teams, acted as Technical Lead across a broad range of development types, and built lasting relationships with LPAs, NGOs, and statutory bodies including Natural England.
His technical expertise spans the full project lifecycle, from early-stage viability and due diligence through EcIA, EIA, and HRA, to mitigation design, enhancement strategies, and post-consent delivery. He has led the ecological inputs for some of the largest solar schemes in England, alongside major energy-from-waste and multi-phase mixed-use developments.
Nathan brings a deep and practical specialism in Biodiversity Net Gain, developed in part through his time at the nation’s largest Biodiversity Unit provider and Habitat Bank operator, where he worked directly with some of the largest developers in the UK to guide them through the offsite BNG aspects of the planning process. This included building and executing large transactions for offsite Biodiversity Units. That experience gives him industry-leading knowledge of BNG policy and statutory requirements, the evolving dynamics of the offsite market, and the practical realities of unit availability; insight that is increasingly critical for developers planning ahead in a mandatory BNG landscape.
Nathan co-founded NatureLogic with a clear purpose: to give developers access to the director-level ecological expertise and strategic BNG insight that genuinely moves projects forward, delivered with responsiveness and commercial understanding.
Aaron Grainger
Aaron is an ecologist and environmental professional with over 19 years of experience spanning the full breadth of ecological consultancy, from protected species surveys and ecological impact assessment through to biodiversity net gain, corporate nature strategy, and nature-related financial disclosure. His approach combines technical expertise with business acumen and an understanding of client challenges to deliver pragmatic solutions that benefit nature.
Aaron has held director-level positions at leading UK environmental consultancies, where he has led large ecology teams, acted as the lead ecologist for major national infrastructure programmes, and advised corporate clients on biodiversity strategies.
Aaron’s technical expertise covers the full project lifecycle, from initial due diligence and viability assessment through concept design, EcIA, planning strategy and post-construction monitoring. He has extensive experience engaging with statutory regulators and local planning authorities on complex matters across a wide range of project types, including major infrastructure, renewable energy, residential, and commercial development.
Alongside his planning and survey credentials, Aaron brings a growing specialism in the corporate biodiversity strategy space, with formal TNFD training and hands-on experience helping businesses understand and act on their dependencies and impacts on nature.
Aaron is passionate about strengthening the link between business and the protection of nature, in particular the need for an integrated approach to solving the interlinked biodiversity and climate crises.
